Lore & Background

The Flash Wolves were originally established as yoe IRONMEN on 15 April 2013, after the draft season of the TeSL. After finishing 6th in the TeSL and struggling in the Season 3 Taiwan Regional Finals, four of five players left. The team rebranded as yoe Flash Wolves on 22 August and signed nearly the entire roster of Gamania Bears on 21 October, automatically qualifying for the 2014 LNL Winter and 2014 GPL Winter splits. In the 2013 WCG Taiwan Qualifiers, they defeated the Taipei Assassins and ahq e-Sports Club to earn a spot in the 2013 World Cyber Games. In 2014, the team saw several roster changes, including Mountain joining as starting jungler on 24 January and leaving on 30 April. The Flash Wolves finished 4th in the LNL Winter split. In 2015, they finished first at IEM Season IX – Taipei on 30 January by beating the Taipei Assassins 2–1. At IEM Season IX Katowice, they defeated SK Gaming in the second round of the group stage, qualifying for the semifinals where they lost to Team SoloMid 2–1. They finished 2nd in the 2015 LMS Spring playoffs and 3rd in the 2015 LMS Summer playoffs. As the 2nd seed from the Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau region at the 2015 World Championship, they won their preliminary group but finished 5th–8th after losing to Origen 1–3. In 2016, they won their first LMS title after sweeping Machi and ahq 3–0, qualifying for the 2016 Mid-Season Invitational where they advanced to the semifinals but lost 1–3 to Counter Logic Gaming. They won their 2nd LMS title in the 2016 Summer Split after defeating ahq in a five-game series and J Team in a 3–0 sweep. At the 2016 World Championship as the #1 seed from the LMS, they finished last in Group B with a 2–4 record. On 13 December 2019, the Flash Wolves announced they were disbanding their League of Legends team and would not participate in the upcoming PCS.

In Their Own Story

The Flash Wolves' League of Legends team was created after the draft in the Taiwan eSports League Draft Season. In 2015, they finished first at IEM Season IX – Taipei on 30 January by beating the Taipei Assassins 2–1. At IEM Season IX Katowice in March, they defeated SK Gaming in the second round of the group stage, qualifying for the semifinals where they were defeated by Team SoloMid 2–1. On 11 October, Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu made a surprise visit to Paris to meet with the Flash Wolves and ahq e-Sports Club, wishing them luck in the World Championship. The team won their preliminary group but finished 5th–8th after losing to Origen 1–3. In 2016, they won their first LMS title by sweeping Machi and ahq 3–0, qualifying for the 2016 Mid-Season Invitational where they took games off SK Telecom T1, G2 Esports and SuperMassive eSports, advancing to the semifinals before losing 1–3 to Counter Logic Gaming. They won their 2nd LMS title in the 2016 Summer Split after defeating ahq in a five-game series and J Team in a 3–0 sweep. At the 2016 World Championship as the #1 seed from the LMS, they were drawn into Group B against SK Telecom T1, IMay and Cloud9, finishing last with a 2–4 record. The Flash Wolves' League of Legends team was created after the draft in the Taiwan eSports League Draft Season. They competed in the LMS—the top league in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau—and were one of the best teams in the region. The team reached the quarterfinals of the World Championship for the first time in 2015. Key tournament results include: 1st at IEM Season IX – Taipei in 2015, 3rd–4th at IEM Season IX World Championship Katowice in 2015, 5th–8th at the 2015 League of Legends World Championship, 1st at IEM Season XI – Katowice in 2017, and 1st at the Arena of Valor Premier League 2020. The Flash Wolves also had a female League of Legends team formed in May 2015. Their former StarCraft II roster consisted of PartinG, Leenock, San, Has and Ian. The Taichung Flash Wolves were one of the top Special Force II teams in Taiwan and began competing in the inaugural Special Force II Pro League in October 2015. On 13 December 2019, the Flash Wolves announced they were disbanding their League of Legends team and would not participate in the upcoming PCS.
